Abstract

Knowledge is very important in our lives, it can even be said that knowledge is a necessity. Learning is a process of effort carried out by a person to obtain a new behavior change as a whole. Learning listening skills in elementary schools is a lesson that must receive attention to continue to be improved. The use of media can provide a strong stimulus to students to make it easier to understand the content of the story they are reading. This study aims to determine the effect of audio-visual media in improving fairy tale listening skills. This study uses a quantitative approach, with the experimental method of one group pre test and post test design. Based on the results of the pre-test, the average value of student learning outcomes is 44.23, then the average value of the post-test results is 80.76, so the ability of students to listen to fairy tales after the application of audio-visual animation media has better learning outcomes compared to before the application of audio-visual animation media. It can be seen from the calculation of the t-test, it can be seen that t-count = 2.00 and t-table = 2.059 then obtained t-count < t-table or 2.00 < 2.059. This means that H1 is accepted and Ho is rejected.
