Abstract

language skills of group B children at the Nurul Ilmi Alafan State Kindergarten, especially the listening aspect, have not developed optimally compared to other abilities, therefore the singing method is used as an effort to improve the listening ability of group B children. This research aims to determine the effect of the singing method on improving listening abilities in children aged 5-6 years at Nurul Ilmi Alafan State Kindergarten. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The sample for this study was group B children with a total of 21 people. Data collection was carried out through tests which were assessed through observation sheets. The instrument used in collecting this data was an observation sheet. Data were analyzed using statistical tests (t-test). The research results showed that 19.05% of children's listening skills before the singing method had not yet developed, 66.67% had begun to develop and 14.29% had developed according to expectations. After learning using the singing method, there are no more children who have not yet developed. 19.05% of children began to develop, 61.90 of children developed according to expectations and 19.05% of children developed very well. This increase is proven by testing the hypothesis, where the price tcount> ttable (19.32> 1.72) so that Ha is accepted.
