The learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 68 Banda Aceh are still relatively low, especially on the theme that health is important, this condition is caused by various factors, one of which is the use of inappropriate methods. For this reason, efforts to improve it are carried out using the inquiry method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the inquiry method on the theme of health which is important for student learning outcomes in class V SD Negeri 68 Banda Aceh. This study uses a quantitative approach to the pre-experimental type with a one-shot case study design. The population of this study was all 28 students of class V and the entire population was used as the research sample so that this research became a population study. Data collection is done through tests and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using a statistical test (t-test). The results showed that the application of the inquiry method had an effect on student learning outcomes in class V SD Negeri 68 Banda Aceh as indicated by an increase in the average pre-test score from 39.5 to 71.5 in the post-test which was reinforced by the results of the hypothesis test that tcount > ttable (9.85 > 1.67) so that Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the inquiry method to the theme of health is important not to affect student learning outcomes in class V SD Negeri 68 Banda Aceh.
