The Effect of Using TPACK-Based Learning Videos on Student Learning Motivation at SMA Negeri 9 Banda Aceh

Abstract

To foster student motivation and curiosity, an increase in student motivation is needed through good learning media. One of them is the use of video-based learning Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK), in order to increase student learning motivation so that students have high learning motivation and can even be very high. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using TPACK-based learning videos on increasing student learning motivation in class X SMA Negeri 9 Banda Aceh. This research approach is a quantitative approach, where the research was conducted at SMAN 9 Banda Aceh which is located at the Harapan Bangsa Lhong Raya Stadium complex Banda Aceh with a total sample of 30 students consisting of 14 male students and 16 female students. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of research that has been done that, student learning motivation at SMA Negeri 9 Banda Aceh is in the very high category of 23.33%, the high category is 53.33%, the medium category is 6.67%, the low category is 10%, and the very low category is 6.67%. Meanwhile, based on the results of the t statistical test that the value of tcountobtained is equal to 2.97. While the value of ttable obtained from the ttable distribution list at a significant level α = 0.05 and dk 30-2 = 28, then tcount≥ ttable, namely 2.97 ≥ 1.70. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of using TPACK-based learning videos on increasing student learning motivation in class X SMA Negeri 9 Banda Aceh. The results of this study indicate that the use of learning videos is very important to increase student learning motivation. The process of learning that is effective, fun, interesting, and meaningful for students is influenced by the teacher's own elements and learning methods.
