The background of this research is that the ability of students of class X IPAS 7 in writing expository texts is still low. Efforts to increase these, then, used the Project Based Learning model. This study aims to describe the process of implementing the Project Based Learning learning model and describe the increase in the ability to write exposition text skills for class X IPAS 7 SMAN 11 Banda Aceh through the application of the Project Based Learning learning model. The results showed that the application of the Project Based Learning learning model was effective for improving the skills of writing exposition texts with the research results shown in cycle II, namely 94.57. From the results of the study showed that the activities of teachers and students when implementing the Project Based Learning learning model were good for increasing students' abilities in writing exposition text skills with the teacher's observation result being 4.8 and the results from student observations 4.7.
