Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of students' speaking fantasy stories by using animated cartoon films for class VII students at SMPN 1 Kuala. This study uses a research design in the form of classroom action research. This study consisted of two cycles, each cycle consisting of the stages of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. Data collection techniques in this study were in the form of oral tests and documentation. The results of the research that was carried out in cycle I, the minimum percentage of completeness was still below the minimum mastery limit, that is, only 64.13%. In cycle II the minimum percentage of completeness is 76.2%. These results indicate that the results in cycle II increased by 12.7% from the results in cycle I, and the minimum percentage of completeness in cycle II had exceeded the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). The KKM for class VII Indonesian at SMPN 1 Kuala is 70.00. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of animated cartoon film media can improve the speaking skills of class VII students of SMPN 1 Kuala
