Abstrak

Abstract
The language skills of group B children in Al-Washliyah Kindergarten, especially the ability to
recognize letters, have not developed optimally compared to other abilities, such as physical, motor,
cognitive, and social-emotional abilities. Therefore, the alphabet letter card puppet game is used.
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the alphabet letter card puppet game in improving
the ability to recognize letters in children aged 5-6 years in Al-Washliyah Kindergarten. This study
uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The sample of this study was the
children of group B with a total of 14 people. Data collection was carried out through tests which were assessed through observation sheets. The instrument used in this data collection is the
observation sheet. Data were analyzed using statistical tests (t-test). The results showed that before
the letter card puppet game, 14.29% of children had not yet developed the ability to recognize
letters of the alphabet, 42.85% of children began to develop, and as many as 42.85% of children
developed according to expectations. After the application of the letter card puppet game, 57.15%
developed very well the ability to recognize letters of the alphabet, 35.71% of children developed as
expected, 7.14% of children began to develop and there were no children who had not developed.
This result is reinforced by the results of hypothesis testing, namely the t-count value of 17.92
while the t-table value is 1.77 so that the t-count> t-table price (17.92> 1.77) is at a significant
level of 5%. It can be concluded that the letter card puppet game is effective in improving the
ability to recognize letters of the alphabet in children aged 5-6 years at Al-Washliyah Kindergarten
Banda Aceh.

Kemampuan bahasa anak kelompok B TK Al-Washliyah khususnya kemampuan
mengenal huruf belum berkembang secara optimal dibandingkan dengan kemampuankemampuan lainnya, seperti kemampuan fisik, motorik, kognitif, dan sosial-emosional.
Oleh karenanya digunakan permainan wayang kartu huruf abjad. Penelitian ini bertujuan
untuk mengetahui efektifitas permainan wayang kartu huruf abjad dalam meningkatkan
kemampuan mengenal huruf pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Al-Washliyah. Penelitian ini
menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pra eksperimen. Sampel penelitian ini
adalah anak kelompok B dengan jumlah 14 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui
tes yang dinilai melalui lembar observasi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam
pengumpulan data ini adalah lembar observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji
statistika (uji-t). Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan sebelum permainan wayang kartu huruf
sebanyak 14,29% anak belum berkembang kemampuan mengenal huruf abjad, sebanyak
42,85% anak mulai berkembang, dan sebanyak 42,85% anak berkembang sesuai harapan.
Setelah penerapan permainan wayang kartu huruf sebanyak 57,15% berkembang sangat
baik kemampuan mengenal huruf abjad, sebanyak 35,71% anak berkembang sesuai
harapan, 7,14% anak mulai berkembang dan tidak ada lagi anak yang belum berkembang.
Hasil ini diperkuat oleh hasil pengujian hipotesis yaitu nilai t-hitung 17,92 sedangkan
nilai t-tabel adalah 1,77 sehingga nilai t- hitung > harga t-tabel (17,92> 1,77)pada taraf
signifikan 5%. Dapat disimpulkan permainan wayang kartu huruf efektif dalam
meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal huruf abjad pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK AlWashliyah Banda Aceh.
