Abstract

Motion and songs are expressions of children when they are happy, angry and afraid combined with songs or songs so that children can express their expressions and free themselves from tension through movements accompanied by songs. gross motor development of children in group B3 is still in the category of not developing as expected. This can be seen from 16 children, 11 children (68.75%) were found to be less active in imitating various movements exemplified by the teacher during learning, the learning activities provided were still watching so that the children quickly felt bored, and looked less enthusiastic. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether movement and song activities are effective on gross motor development of children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri 5 Tibang Banda Aceh?. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of movement and song activities on gross motor development of children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri 5 Tibang Banda Aceh. The research method used is a quantitative study with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The data used in this study were obtained from the observations of children. Data collection techniques in this study were pretest and post-test. The results showed that early childhood learning by using movement activities and songs was effective in improving gross motor development of group B children at TK Negeri 5 Tibang Banda Aceh. With movement activities and songs, teachers can provide opportunities for children to express themselves in moving their body parts through singing along with songs. Movement activities and songs integrated with music and dance facilitate children with different learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic) and can improve gross motor physical development.
