ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA SMP BANDA ACEH PADA MATERI POLA BILANGAN

Abstract

Mathematics is a science that deals with concepts that are abstract and related to symbols, so that the presentation of mathematics is often associated with problems in everyday life. The purpose of learning mathematics is so that students are able to solve the problems given and are also skilled in finding solutions to a problem, especially those related to mathematics. Creative thinking is a pattern that is able to produce new methods, new concepts, new understandings, new discoveries, and new works. The ability to think creatively in mathematics learning is the ability of students to combine several elements of a concept and then summarize them into a structured, unique and new unit. The purpose of this study is to find out how students' creative thinking skills in solving problems on number pattern material at SMP Negeri 4 Banda Aceh. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. The type of research conducted in this research is descriptive research. The research subjects were students of class VIII SMPN 4 Banda Aceh. The research instruments used were tests, observations and interviews. The results of this research are that 57% are obtained on the Fluency indicator, and these results indicate that students are still low in fluency in answering questions given by the teacher. On the Flexibility indicator, 60% (low) of the students' ability level in answering the number pattern questions given by the teacher was obtained and on the recency indicator it was obtained as much as 62% (low), students are also still weak in answering questions with these indicators. So that the overall results obtained based on the table above are 60% and this is a low category, and it is clarified that only 2 students have high scores in answering questions, 3 students have moderate scores and 10 people have low scores. So it can be concluded that the level of creative thinking ability of SMPN 4 Banda Aceh students on number pattern material is still low.
