Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning outcomes experienced by student in solving algebraic from operations as well as analyzing the factors causing them and overcoming problems with learning difficulties using algebraic teaching aids. This research is an experimental research with the research design used is quasi experiment. In determining the sample, a random sampling technique with class VIII MTsN 5 Aceh Besar was used. The sample in this study was student of class VIII A as acontrol class with a conseptual understanding learning model and class VIII C as an experimental class with learning models using algebraic teaching aids. The instrument used in this study was a test of the results before and after student learning on material operating in the form of algebra. Quantitative analysis was carried out using normality tests, homogeneity tets, and t-test result showed that there were significant differences in student effectiveness between students learning mathematics after being taught with learning models using algebraic teaching aids. So that the model is good to be used as an alternative model of mathematics learning.
