Analysis of Forehand and Backhand Basic Technical Skill Levels, for Service Accuracy in Table Tennis Sports at State High School 12 Banda Aceh Students

Abstract

The development of table tennis is currently growing rapidly. In terms of quality, almost all levels of society know table tennis and are able to play this sport. To become a more talented athlete also requires mastery of mature techniques and tactics because they are important in developing a table tennis game. This research is a correlational study using a correlation survey method, while the technique and data collection uses tests and measurements. This correlation study leads to the level of forehand and backhand skills by playing table tennis which is expressed in the correlation coefficient. The purpose of this study was to improve basic forhand and bachken technical skills for service accuracy in table tennis at SMA Negeri 12 Banda Aceh students. Based on the results of the research that students who have the ability to hit backhand accuracy in the very high category score of 3.57% as many as 1 student, high category 21.43% as many as 6 students, medium and low categories respectively 35.71% as many as 10 students, and very low category 3.57% as many as 1 student. While the forehand skills in the very high and high category scores of 17.86% respectively by 5 students, in the medium category 28.57% by 8 students, in the low category by 14.29% by 4 students, and in the very low category by 21.43%. as many as 6 students. This is strongly influenced by several factors including poorly programmed exercises, incorrect techniques and not real students when doing the exercises. The better the technique in hitting, the better the accuracy of the forehand and backhand strokes.
