Abstract

This research will measure one level of process, namely developing a pop up book media. Every learning process requires the ability to think creatively, one of which is to develop pop up book media. Media pop up book is a book that shows the potential for movement and interaction through the use of paper as a material for folds, rolls, shapes, wheels or turns. This study aims to find out how the Development of Pop-Up Book Media To Improve Cognitive Ability of Class V students in learning science with the theme of Our Friend's Environment. This research was compiled and developed based on 10 stages consisting of potential problems, data collection, media design, media validation, media revision, product trials, product revisions, trial use, mass products. Data collection techniques were carried out by expert validation and questionnaire responses of students in the pilot phase. Based on the validation expert, information is obtained that the pop up book media is very suitable to be used as a learning media and the percentage of eligibility reaches 98.5% of the responses of students at the trial stage which involves 4 th grade elementary school students, the data obtained from the trial results against pop up book media. Overall, of the 10 percentage questions that answered (YES) as many as 95% and students who answered (not )by a percentage of 5%), it can be concluded that students were very interested in using media pop-up books in the learning process of science in class V of our friends' environmental themes.
