TABOO WORDS: WHAT SHOULD NOT BE SPEAKED IN THE CULTURE OF THE GAYO LUT COMMUNITY, CENTRAL ACEH REGENCY

Abstract

This research is entitled "taboo words: what should not be speaked in the culture of the gayo lut community, central aceh regency". The formulation of the problem in this research is What are the taboo languages ​​according to the people of Central Aceh district and the cultural values ​​contained in these taboo languages. This study aims to analyse the meaning of the use of taboo words in the culture of the Gayo Lut community, Central Aceh Regency. The source of research data is the Gayo-speaking community who was appointed as an informant. This type of research is research using a qualitative approach. The method used is descriptive method. Data collection was carried out using interview techniques. The data analysis technique used is to collect as much data as possible, check the validity of the data, describe all data, analyse data from informant interviews. The results of this study indicate that there are taboo words regarding the use of taboo language in the culture of the Gayo Lut community. Taboo to say people name, Taboo to say the name of an animal, Taboo words mention body anatomy, swearing taboo and taboo to ask/say something.
