Abstract

Reading is an important activity in everyday life, because reading is not only to obtain information, but serves as a tool to expand one's language knowledge. Therefore, there is a need for early reading skills that must be possessed by early childhood. Then, research was conducted to find out the effect of the use of video animation media in improving initial reading skills in grade 1 / A students of public primary school 32 Banda Aceh. This research refers to a quantitative approach. The research step uses several data collection techniques, namely; (1) oral techniques (post test / pre-test); (2) documentation. And data analysis techniques, namely; (1) frequency distribution rusmus; (2) average test; (3) standard deviation formula; (4) data normalist test; (5) hypothesis testing. Based on the results of data processing, researchers can conclude that the application of animated video media has an effect on increasing students' reading reading, as evidenced by the average value before the application of animated video media 73,3448 increased to 81,328 after the application of animated video media. This result is also strengthened by the results of testing the hypothesis that is tcount> ttable (2.893> 2.052), thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that the animation video learning media influences the reading skills of the beginning of grade 1 / A students of public primary school 32 Banda Aceh.
