Abstract

Leg muscle power is a quality that allows a muscle or group of muscles to produce explosive physical work, intensive muscle contraction depends on the direction of as many muscle units as possible and on muscle volume, the long jump is one of the athletic numbers whose achievement is influenced by components of physical conditions such as muscle power. The problems in this study are as follows: Is there a contribution of leg muscle power and speed to the long jump results in early childhood athletic athletes in Pasi Aceh Besar District, The purpose of this study was to find out how much the contribution of leg muscle power and speed in jumping away at the Early Childhood Athletes Fostered by the Aceh Besar District. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of correlation method (correlation research), which is the purpose of this study to determine whether there is a relationship between the two variables studied. Based on the results of the research above, it is known that the results of the leg muscle power and speed test in the long jump, measured by the standing broad jump, (2) speed, measured by the 30 meter running test, and (3) the long jump ability was measured by the long jump test. The data were processed using statistical techniques in the form of calculating the average value (mean), standard deviation (SD) and correlational test. The results obtained are as follows: (1) there is a positive and significant relationship between Leg Muscle Power and long jump ability of (r = 0.9) (2) there is a positive and significant relationship between speed and long jump ability of ( r = 0.96) (3) there is a positive and significant relationship between Leg Muscle Power and speed on long jump ability (R_(Y.X_1 X_2 )= 34.37). Results. So, leg muscle power and speed have a significant contribution to the long jump ability.
