Abstract

Social emotional development of children is the sensitivity of children to understand the feelings of others when interacting in everyday life. The level of interaction of children with other people starts from parents, siblings, playmates to the wider community. However, based on observations during the learning process in the odd semester of 2021 in group A children of the Beurabo State Kindergarten, Padang Tiji District, Pidie Regency, it can be seen that the children's social emotional abilities are still not as expected. This can be seen when playing outside, children can't wait for their turn when playing swings and slides and often fight over toys. Likewise with indoor activities, children have not been able to obey the rules when playing and also often bring their own toys such as slime and tend to play alone and do not socialize with friends and their environment. The objectives of this study were: To determine the increase in social emotional development through the traditional game of groping in group A children of Beurabo State Kindergarten.This research is a classroom action research, the research subjects are group A children of Beurabo State Kindergarten with 14 students. Data collection techniques through observation sheets. The results of the research in the first cycle showed that the data on the social-emotional development of children in the undeveloped category was 38% (5 children), the category began to develop 43% (6 children), the developed category was as expected 14% (2 children) with the very well developed category 5% ( 1 child). In the second cycle, data on the socio-emotional development of children with the category of not developing 5% (1 child), the category starting to develop 14% (2 children), the category developing as expected 45% (6 children) with a very well developed category 36% (5 children) Overall, the percentage of children's social-emotional development in the data can be concluded that the traditional game of groping can increase the social-emotional development of children.
