Abstract

Early childhood education is essentially a provision of stimulation including coaching and training so that children have certain abilities needed in their lives now and in the future. These abilities include the ability to recognize numbers. The ability to recognize numbers in children is very important to develop in order to obtain readiness to take part in learning at the next stage. However, based on the results of observations in group B children, it can be seen that the ability to recognize children's numbers is still not as expected, children have difficulty mentioning the numbers written on the blackboard, children are also difficult to distinguish the numbers on the picture cards and also if the teacher scrambles the numbers. -the figure. The purpose of this study was to improve the ability to recognize numbers through playing with marbles for children in group B of Tgk Chik Kindergarten in Gogo, Pidie Regency. This research is a classroom action research with 17 children as research subjects conducted in May 2022. The data collection technique used is an observation sheet. The results showed that in the first cycle the category was not developed 47% (8 children), the category began to develop 31% (5 children), the category developed as expected 12% (2 children), and the category developed very well 10% (2 children). . In the second cycle, the number of undeveloped categories was 1 child (6%), starting to develop 2 children (13%), the developing category as expected was 37% (6 children) the very well developed category was 44% (8 children). It can be concluded that the game of marbles can improve the ability to recognize numbers.
