Abstract

Beginning reading is the stages of the process of learning to read for elementary school students in the  early grades. Students learn to acquire  abilities  and master reading techniques and capture reading contents well. Therefore, teachers need to design learning to read well so that they can foster reading habits as something fun. One of the factors that causes children’s reading ability is low is the media used by the teacher is not interesting so students are bored. One of the objectives of this research is to develop pop up media for early reading skills. The method used in this study is research development ( research and development), this delelopment model consists of 4 stages, namely: potential and problems, data collection, product design, product validation. This learning media uses a questionnaire to evaluate the quality of the media. The results of this research are pop up media products that have validated by each expert 1. Expert learning material aspects with a score of 4.3 categories is very good, aspects of the contents of the score 3.6 categories are good. 2.  Media aspect experts display with a score of 3.7 good categories, programming aspects score 3.75 good categories. 3. Linguists in the aspect of language use with a score of 4.3 are very good. Based on these results it can be concluded the pop up media that have been developed are suitable for use or field trials,
