Abstract

Cognitive ability is a thought process, namely the individual's ability to connect, assess and consider an event or events. Cognitive is defined as a process that occurs internally in the central nervous system when humans are thinking. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in cognitive abilities in classifying the types of children's vehicles by using Audio Visual media in children at the IT Alam Pelangi Kindergarten Banda Aceh. The type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The instrument used was an observation sheet. The research subjects were all children aged 4-5 years in Kindergarten IT Alam Pelangi Banda Aceh, the data were analyzed using the percentage formula. Thus the results of the study indicate that the ability to classify the types of vehicles (land, sea and air) of children increases from cycle I to cycle II, namely in cycle I it can be seen that the average ability of children is still at BB, MB, BSH and BSB, namely with mean: BM = 6 children (55%), and MB = 2 children (22.5%), in BSH = 1 child (15%), and BSB = 1 child (10%), from this data, action is needed on the second cycle, then the results of the second cycle with an average score of BSH = 30%, BSB = 70%, with a total of 100%, and passed the success criteria agreed by the school, namely: 75%, then this study was declared successful and stopped in the second cycle.
