Abstract

Less than optimal results of the value of students' knowledge because some educators still use methods and learning models that are less varied on the material taught. One of the newest learning models that suits the various characteristics of elementary school students by using a take and give type of cooperative learning model. The formulation of this research is whether there is an influence of the take and give type of cooperative learning model on the cognitive abilities of grade IV students of SD Negeri 11 Banda Aceh on style material.The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the Take and Give type of cooperative learning model on the cognitive of grade IV students of SD Negeri 11 Banda Aceh. Pre-experimental research methods.this research design is a one grup pre-test and post-test study conducted in one class without comparison class by providing initial and final tests. The pre-test and post-test test instruments in the form of multiple choice tests of 20 items. Results data were analyzed using the Chi Square test formula. The results of the pre-test Chi-Square = 10.3 Chi Square table = 11.0 (10.3 <11.0). The results of the post-test Chi-Square = 5.1 Chi Squared table = 11.0 (5.1 <11.0). Hypothesis analysis of tcount = 26.77 t table is 2.05 tcount> ttable (26.77> 2.05). N-Gain analysis pretest g = 36 medium category while posttest g = 75 high category. The difference in the N-Gain pretest and posttest analisis can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of take and give type affects the cognitive of grade IV students of SD Negeri 11 Banda Aceh in the style material.
