EFEKTIVITAS PENERAPAN MODEL PAIRED STORY TELLING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERCERITA SISWA KELAS V SDN 68 BANDA ACEH

The results of observation at SD Negeri 68 Banda Aceh show students who appear to be less mastered in the contents of the story and less skilled in story telling techniques. The low value of students' story tellingskills is influenced by several factors, namely low student vocabulary, lack of student confidence, lack of student interest in learningIndonesian, and learning is still teacher-centered. The formulation of the problem in this study are: Is the application of the Paired Story Telling model effective in improving story telling skills of fifthgrade students at SD Negri 68 Banda Aceh? This study hasthe aim: to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Paired Story Tellingmodel to improve story tellingskills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 68 Banda Aceh. The research approach uses quantitative research with experimental research with one-group pre-test-post-test design. The sample in this study amounted to 29 students. The instruments in this study were questionnaire, pretest and posttest tests. The results showed that based on the average qualification of the final test (posttest) using the t test, so t_count≥t_table is 3.35> 2.05 then H_ (o) is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that the Paired Story Telling Model is Effective in improving storytelling skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 68 Banda Aceh. Besides that, from the students 'answers from all of the questionnaire statements, it was found that students' interest and enthusiasm inlearning usingthe Paired Story Telling Model was very high. This can be seen from the fun, active and enthusiasm of students in following the learning process.
