Abstract

This article is about the implementation of Indonesian language learning storytelling
materials in grade III students SD Negeri 10 Banda Aceh obtained problems that occur
namely storytelling skills to tell a story a student in Indonesian language learning is
still very low. Based on these problems, then in this study researchers want to improve
storytelling skills through doll speak techniques in grade III students of SD Negeri 10 Banda
Aceh using research design (Class Action Research). From the results of research that has
been done it is known that the learning process of storytelling using doll speak techniques
in grade III B students has increased. The improvement of storytelling products with
technique doll speak can be seen from the increasing assessment of students' storytelling
skills on aspects of story content, word choice, accuracy of story logic, expression and
behavior, volume of voice, and smoothness of students when telling stories. In cycle I the
average student's score is 20.92. Furthermore in cycle II the average student score becomes
23.16. A total of 22 students have completed their grades because they are over 75. While
3 students are still under KKM with a score of 70. Thus, the storytelling skills of grade III
B students of SD Negeri 10 Banda Aceh have improved both in process and product after
being given the action of using the technique of doll speak. In addition, the student's response
in storytelling learning got the attention of the students. Students' motivation in
storytelling also looks more arising and almost all students want to come up with ideas
and dare to tell stories using fun doll speak media.
