PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MENGENAL HURUF MELALUI MEDIA BUKU HURUF PADA ANAK KELOMPOK B-5 TK ADHYAKSA 14 LAMPINEUNG BANDA ACEH

Abstract

The ability to recognize letters must be mastered by kindergarten children because the
introduction of letters, including initial capital, has reading skills, these abilities have not
developed well in the group B-5 TK Adhyaksa 14 Banda Aceh. Therefore, action is needed
to overcome this. This study aims to determine the increase in the ability to recognize
letters through the media of letter books in group children B-5 TK Adhyaksa 14 Banda
Aceh. This study uses a Classroom Action Research design by adapting the Kemmis and
MC Taggart models with four stages of action, namely planning, implementation/action,
observation and reflection. The number of subjects as many as 11 children, data collection
was done through observation and documentation. Data analysis with descriptive
techniques through the percentage formula with an indicator of success as much as 80%.
The results showed that there was an increase in the ability to recognize letters through
the media of group children's letter books B-5 TK Adhyaksa 14, namely pre-cycle 36.36%,
the results of the second cycle increased to 52.28% and in the second cycle increased to
81.82%, exceeding the student development standard set by 80%. The teacher's activities
in learning to recognize letters using letter book media in the first cycle were categorized
as good with a score of 75% increasing to very good in the second cycle with a score of
100%. Children's activities in learning to recognize letters using letter book media in the
first cycle are categorized as adequate with a score of 70.50%, increasing to very good in
the second cycle with a score of 98.25%. It can be concluded that the letter book media is
able to improve the ability to recognize letters of group children B-5 TK Adhyaksa 14
Banda Aceh.
