Abstract

Authoritarian parenting is a form of parenting that emphasizes parental
supervision so that children are submissive and obedient. Children who come
from families that apply regularity and strict supervision do not show that they
tend to be unhappy, aloof, and have difficulty trusting others. The purpose of this
study was to describe the relationship between authoritarian parenting patterns on
the socio-emotional development of B2 group children in Save The Kids
Kindergarten. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of research
described. The subject of this research is Kindergarten B2, as many as 10 students
and 10 students' parents. Collecting data using questionnaires and observation
techniques. With various considerations the subject is taken as many as 2 parents
who are indicated to carry out authoritarian parenting and observation of
children's social emotional development indicated only 2 children. Data collection
techniques in this study were questionnaires and observations. The results showed
that there were 2 parents who had an authoritarian style, namely respondent 09
with a percentage value of 54% and respondent 10 with a percentage value of
63%. Meanwhile, regarding the social emotional development of children, the
results obtained with a total value of:1,2+0,8=2F and an average
value::12+8=20%. And there are 2 children in the social emotional development
of children. The results of this study show that there is a relationship between the
authoritarian parenting pattern of parents on the socio-emotional development of
children in group B2 at Save The Kids Kindergarten Banda Aceh, which has a
negative and positive impact on children.
