Abstract

Audio-visual media is a set of tools that can project moving images and sound. The
combination of image and sound forms the same character as the original object. The tools
included in the category of audio-visual media are: television, video-VCD, sound and film.
Problem Formulation Based on the background of the problem above, the formulation of the
problem in this study is: How to improve the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters through
audio-visual media in Group B children of PAUD Subulussalam Banda City?. The purpose
of this study was: To find out how to increase the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters
through audio-visual media in children of Group B PAUD Subulussalam Banda City. The
research method used in this research is quantitative. The type of research used by the
author is classroom action research (CAR). Classroom action research is defined as research
oriented to the application of action with the aim of improving quality or solving problems
in a group of subjects under study who observe the level of success or consequences of their
actions, to then be given follow-up actions that are perfecting actions or adjustments to
conditions and situations so that results are obtained. better. The subjects of this study were
all children aged 5-6 years in group B PAUD Subulussalam Banda Aceh City, as many as 10
children consisting of 5 boys and 5 girls. The results showed that in the description of the
observation of children's activities in the first cycle the number of acquisitions was in the
undeveloped category of 40% (4 children), the category began to develop 20% (2 children)
the category developed as expected 20% (2 children) and the category developed very well
20 % (Two children). While the second cycle there is no category not yet developed 10% (1
child), starting to develop 10% (1 child), developing category as expected is 10% (1 child)
very well developing category is 70% (7 children). Based on these data, it can be concluded
that using audio-visual media can improve the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters for group
B children at PAUD Subulussalam Banda City.
