Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of jigsaw cooperative learning on students'
mathematical communication skills in grade XI of MAN 2 Aceh Besar. This study uses a
quantitative approach. The method used in this research experiment is the One – Group Pretest –
Posttest design. The population of this research were the whole students in grade XI of MAN 2
Aceh Besar and the Sample in this research were 18 students of the grade XI-IPA 1. The
instrument used in this research used RPP, LKPD, students' mathematical communication skills
tests and interviews. . Data collection techniques using pretest and posttest. While the analysis
technique of distribution normality test, homogeneity test and t-test. Results Based on research
with pre test and posttest analysis. The results of the normality test of the data obtained that the X1
variable (pretest) in normal conditions, namely X1 count X1 table with a value of -51.84 < 9.488
while the X2 variable (posttest) is also in normal condition, namely X_2 count X_2 table with a
value of 7.67 < 9.488 . The results of the homogeneity test obtained from the calculated F is 1.56
and the F table is 1.94. With the F count < F table, the data is homogeneous and from the
calculation of the Separated Variance T-test, the T count data is 0.016 and the T table is 1.990. If T
count > T table then Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a significant effectiveness of the Jigsaw
type cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills at MAN 2 Aceh
Besar.
