Abstract

The problem faced is the very low interest in reading children, one of the causes is the lack of
variety of learning media used by educators in developing early reading interest in BI group
children at Kemala Bhayangkari I Kindergarten. This research is for students to be more motivated
and interested in reading, for teachers as consideration for increasing reading interest, improving
and improving the early learning process, as an alternative in teaching, gaining new experiences in
increasing reading interest, for schools developing learning models and creativity in providing
learning media. This type of research uses classroom action research (CAR) using a descriptive,
quantitative approach. The research subjects were children aged 5-6 years in TK Kemala
Bhayangkari I Banda Aceh with a total of 18 students consisting of 7 boys and 1 girl. The results of
the research are indicators that have not developed (BB) are 22.2%, 4 people, Start Developing
(MB) are 18%, 3 people, Developing according to expectations (BSH) are 24.3%, 5 people, for indicators Developing Very Good ( BSB) of 27% totaling 5 children in the first cycle. In the second
cycle there was a significant increase in the Very Good Development indicator (BSB) which was
81.1%, with the number of 15 children for the Undeveloped indicator (BB) which decreased by
0.8%, Starting Developing (MB) to 0.8%, and the indicator Developing as Expected (BSH) is
14.8%.
