Abstract

The problem in this discussion is that students take a long time to be able to explain the basic concepts related to the material given by the teacher. For this reason, it is hoped that the application of the peer tutor model will make it easier for students to understand the problems they are facing
so that the students concerned are motivated to understand the material being studied. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of peer tutoring methods on learning outcomes in animal locomotion material for class V SD Negeri 57
Banda Aceh. This study aims to determine the effect of the peer tutor model on learning outcomes in class V movement equipment material at SD Negeri 57 Banda Aceh. The design of this study used the Quasy Experiment method with a nonequivalent control group design. Nonequivalent Control Group Design is a design that uses two groups that compare the independent (bound) variables between before and after treatment (treatment). The population in this study was the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 57 Banda Aceh totaling 28 people. The data collection technique in this research is to use a learning outcome evaluation test. Data analysis used t test and significant level = 0.05. The results of data analysis using t-test obtained tcount = 4.28 and ttable = 1.68 at a significant level of 5%. This shows that the application of the peer tutoring method (peer teaching) can improve student learning outcomes in Class V Animal Movement Materials at SD Negeri 57 Banda Aceh.
