Abstract

This research is entitled "Improvement of Cognitive Development in Science Learning
Through Role Playing Method in Fifth Grade Students of SDN Kuta Rentang". The purpose of
this paper is to find out the activities of teachers and students in the application of the Role
Playing learning method in improving cognitive development in science learning for fifth
grade students at SDN Kuta Rentang. To find out the application of the Role Playing learning
method in improving cognitive development in science learning for fifth grade students at SDN
Kuta Rentang. The subjects in this study were the fifth grade students of SDN Kuta Rentang,
which consisted of 8 students consisting of 5 boys and 3 girls. Data collection techniques
using observation and written tests. Data analysis technique using the Average Formula. The
results showed that the teacher's activity in managing learning in the first cycle was lower
than the second cycle, namely the value of the first cycle was 2.64, the second cycle was 3.45.
Student activities during learning using Roll Playing are also in cycle II more than cycle I.
The value of cycle I reaches 2.45 and cycle II opens 3.45. The average value of increasing
Cognitive Development in science learning through the Roll Most method in the first cycle is
67.5 and the second cycle is 75. So it can be said that the increase in cognitive development in
science learning through the Role Playing method where the second cycle is higher than the
first cycle. So it can be said that after carrying out a series of learning activities, the results of
cognitive development will be said, so there is no need to continue to cycle II.
