Abstract

he ability to recognize number symbols in children is very important to develop in order to
obtain readiness in participating in learning at a higher level, especially in mastering
mathematical concepts. The formulation of the problem sought in this study is: How is the
effort to improve the ability to recognize number symbols through the use of number card
media with the dragon snake game in group B children of One Roof Kindergarten SD
Lambirah?. The purpose of this study was: To find out how to improve the ability to
recognize number symbols through the use of number card media with the dragon snake
game in group B children of One Roof Kindergarten SD Lambirah. The research method
used in this research is CAR with the use of 2 cycles. The sample of this study was 10
children in group B. The results showed that in the description of the observations of
children's activities in the first cycle the number of acquisitions was in the undeveloped
category of 40% (4 children), the category began to develop 20% (2 children) the category
developed according to expectations 20% ( 2 children) and very well developed category
20% (2 children). While the second cycle there is no category not yet developed 10% (1
child), starting to develop 10% (1 child), developing category as expected is 10% (1 child)
very well developing category is 70% (7 children). Based on these data, it can be concluded
that using number cards media can improve the ability to recognize number symbols of
group B children in One Roof Kindergarten SD Lambiran Aceh Besar.
