Abstract

Talking stick model is a learning model that uses sticks as a learning tool that can increase
students' motivation and learning so that they prefer Civics lessons. This type of research is
Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were Class IV students with 23
students. The aim is to determine the use of a talking stick model with the aid of audio-visual
media on Theme 7 The Beauty of Diversity in My Country, SD Negeri 21 Banda Aceh in
improving learning outcomes. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. The data collection of
this research was carried out using observation (observation) for the assessment of spiritual
and social attitudes, learning tests for the assessment of knowledge (knowledge) and
psychomotor (skills). The results showed that the fourth grade of SD Negeri 21 Banda aceh in
the assessment of spiritual attitudes with an average good, social attitudes with an average
good, cognitive assessment, the percentage of complete 78.26% and 21.74% incomplete.
Psychomotor assessment with the proportion of completeness 78.26% and incomplete 21.74%.
Completeness Overall 18 students in the complete category, and 5 students in the incomplete
category. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the use of the Talk Stick Model
assisted by audio video media can improve student Civics learning outcomes.
