Abstract

Parenting is a parenting method or applied by parents so that their children can grow and
develop into socially mature individuals. Parenting is an interaction between parents and
children in communicating, educating, nurturing and contuining from time to time. How the
parenting style applied by people know at home. Is there a relationship between parental
love patterns on childrens social development. The purpose of this stdy was to determine the
parenting pattern of parents toward their children and to determine the relationship between
parenting patern s abd the social development of group A children in Raudhatul Adhfal
Aceh Besar. The subjecs in this study were 8 parents and 8 children of group A in Rudhatul
Adhfal Aceh Besar. The method used is a qualitative approach with the instruments used in
the form of interviews, observations and documentation. The results the study showed that
the parenting pattern applied by parents varied (democratis, authoritarian, permissive).
From the results of interviews with parent and observation of children, it can be seen that
there are five parents who apply democratic parenting to their children, and two parents
who apply permissive parenting to their children, and one parent who applies authoratian
parenting to their children. Childrens social development is strongly influenced by parenting
applied by parents aducate their children when they are at home, it can be seen from the
results of research thet parents who nurture in a democratic way will from childrens social
attitudes thet are easy to get along with and easy to enter. In any situation and atmosphere,
with permissive parenting children can get along but find it difficult to obey existing rules,
unlike the ones above, authoritarianism can form a child who is timid and hesitant in acting.
