Abstract

Media is anything that can channel information from information sources to recipients of
information. Learning media has an important role in the process of teaching and learning
activities. The formulation of the research problem in this research are (1) How is the process of
developing letter tree media, (2) How is the validation level of letter tree media, (3) How is the use
of letter tree media to stimulate the ability to recognize letters of children in group B-5 in TK FKIP
Unsyiah. The objectives of this research are: (1) To describe the process of developing letter tree
media, (2) To determine the level of validation of the letter tree media media. (3) To find out the use
of letter tree media to stimulate the ability to recognize letters of children in group B-5 in TK FKIP
Unsyiah. The type of research is R&D (Research and Development), the instrument used is a
media validation sheet by the teacher and an observation sheet on the ability to recognize letters,
the data is analyzed using the percentage formula. The results of this study indicate that the level of
validity of the letter tree media shows V1 (100%), V2 (100%), V3 (100%), V4 (94.2%), and V5
(98.1%) with very feasible categories. The use of the developed letter tree media was able to improve
the ability to recognize letters of children in group B-5 with a total of 84.21% achieving success
indicators. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the development of letter tree media for
children aged 5-6 years at FKIP Unsyiah Kindergarten Banda Aceh is stated to be very suitable for
use.
