Abstract

This research is entitled "Improving the Learning Discipline of Class II Elementary School
Students" Muhammadiyah with the Drill Method”. The purpose of this writing is to find out
the activities of teachers and students during the learning process in improving learning
discipline of second grade students of SD Muhammadiyah by using the drill method. Subject
in this study were second grade students of SD Muhammadiyah. Data collection technique by
using observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques using Average Formula. The results showed. Cycle I student learning activities amounted to 2.73 is categorized as poor,
while in the second cycle 3.73 is categorized as good. Activity teachers in teaching cycle I
amounted to 2.42 categorized as less while in cycle II amounted to 3.71 categorized as good.
Discipline results of students using the drill method from cycle I to cycle II also increased.
When viewed the first cycle of 2.51 and cycle II of 4.88 is very good. So it can be concluded
that the drill method can improve student discipline after doing research as much as 2 cycles.
The drill method is a method that can improve skills and discipline therefore it is hoped that
the teacher can improve the drill method in the next lesson because it provides a lot of benefits
to students.
