Abstract

Fine motor skills, namely movements which are the coordination of muscles that require the ability
to control fine movements. However, the fact is that what happened in group B-2 at TK FKIP USK
Banda Aceh has not fully developed the child's fine motor skills so that action is needed to fix it.
This study aims to determine the development of fine motor skills through sawdust media, and
teacher activities and children's activities in learning fine motor skills using sawdust media in
group B-2 children. This study used a Classroom Action Research design by adapting the Kemmis
and MC Taggart models with four stages of action, namely planning, acting / acting, observing
and reflecting. The number of subjects was 27 children, data collection was done through
observation and documentation. The data analysis used quantitative descriptive technique with
percentage of completeness indicator as much as 80%. The results showed that there was fine motor
development through wood powder media in group B-2 children, namely the pre-cycle results were
only 38.44% developed, increased to 61.12% in cycle II but had not yet reached the standard
development of the students set and in the second cycle. cycle II increased to 83.12% as well as
exceeding the standard development of students which was set at 80%. The teacher's activity in
fine motoric learning using sawdust media in the first cycle was categorized as sufficient with a
score of 73.25% increasing to be very good in the second cycle with a score of 98.25%. The
activities of children in learning fine motor skills using sawdust media in the first cycle were
categorized as sufficient with a score of 66.67%, increasing to be very good in the second cycle with
a score of 91.75%. It can be concluded that the sawdust media is able to improve the fine motoric
development of children in group B-2 TK FKIP USK Banda Aceh.
