Analisis Peran Orang Tua pada Pendampingan Belajar Saat Pandemi COVID-19

Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, the world was shocked by the Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) outbreak
which required all students to lock down. It is suspected that Covid-19 first appeared in Wuhan,
Hubei Province at the end of 2019. This online school is applied to every student and student
throughout Indonesia. One of the free and familiar applications applied is the WhatsApp
application. Guidance for parents in the family as educators, caregivers, caregivers, mentors,
coaches and teachers for their children. Parents can be called the first person responsible for the
welfare of their children or the person who must put the interests of the children first. The
formulation of the problem in this study is, what are the roles and constraints of parents in
learning assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic? The purpose of this study was to determine
the role and constraints of parents in learning assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. This
study uses a descriptive approach. The data collected in this study are primary data and secondary
data. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by observation, interviews and
documentation. The results of this study indicate that the role of parents in learning assistance
during the COVID-19 pandemic is always accompanying their children to study at home. Parents'
understanding of the broad material owned by parents is very helpful in helping children learn at
home. Parents help children learn at home based on activities at school, such as teaching children to
count, read, spell letters into one word and help children do school assignments. While the obstacles
for parents in learning assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic in the learning process carried
out at home, starting from the difficult internet network, this certainly greatly hampers the
learning process. So many assignments are given that make students feel bored and lazy to study
