Abstract

The character of responsibility becomes very important for children's development because by getting used to being responsible, children will also get used to being able to carry out their duties and obligations in everyday life. Therefore, stimulation is needed to instill the character of responsibility in early childhood. The research aims to determine the character of responsibility in children aged 5-6 years, to find out the activities carried out to stimulate the character of responsibility to children aged 5-6 years, and to find out the obstacles faced by teachers in stimulating the character of responsibility of children aged 5-6 years. 6 years at Save The Kids Kindergarten Banda Aceh. This study uses a qualitative research design with a descriptive type. The research subjects of group B teachers were 4 people. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results showed that: (1) The character of the responsibility of children aged 5-6 years at TK Save The Kids Banda Aceh showed that, 10% of MB, 40% of BSH and 50% of BSB children were shown to be responsible for tidying up their own equipment, storing toys after playing, taking care of their belongings, tidying up eating utensils after eating and also being responsible for disposing of trash in its place. (2) The activities carried out by the teacher to stimulate the character of responsibility in children aged 5-6 years include creating a pleasant learning atmosphere, establishing good communication with children regarding the character of responsibility and emphasizing the habit of being responsible. (3) Obstacles faced in stimulating the character of children's responsibility include the low support from parents, where the habituation of responsibilities taught at school is not carried out when the child is at home.
