Abstract

Ria Anita. 2022. Improvement of Children's Fine Motor Development Through Steam Learning Using Loose Part Materials for Children 5 – 6 Years Old in Group B1 of Salsabila Kindergarten.

Fine motor is the development of movement that includes small muscles with eye-hand coordination, including the ability and flexibility to use the fingers that require careful coordination. Problem formulation How to improve children's fine motor development through STEAM-based learning using loose materials for children aged 5-6 years in group B1 in Salsabila Kindergarten. The type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The instrument used is an observation sheet, the sample is 15 children and the amount of data is analyzed using the percentage formula. The results showed that in pre-cycle activities with all indicators there were a number of percentages in the undeveloped category of 30% (5 children), starting to develop with a score of 35% (5 children), developing as expected with a score of 25% (4 children), and in developing very good 10% (1 child). In the first cycle the number of presentations in undeveloped was no longer visible, at the start of developing with 21 children (2%), while developing according to expectations 11 children (70%) and in very well developed 4 children (28%) . In cycle II, the percentage is no longer in the undeveloped category and is starting to develop, the developing category as expected is 42% (6 children) and the very well developed category is 58% (9 children). Based on these data, it can be said that activities using loose materials can improve children's fine motor skills.
