Abstract

Karnita, 2021. Improving the Ability to Recognize Geometric Shapes Through Puzzle Games for Group A Children at PAUD AL FATA Lampaya. The problem in this research is that the learning process still uses a lot of printed book media, children are rarely given the opportunity to be creative in creating play equipment using various geometric shapes, children's ability to recognize geometric shapes is not optimal. Because this has a very big impact on students in increasing their ability to recognize geometric shapes through puzzle games for group A children at PAUD AL FATA Lampaya. This study aims to determine the increase in the ability to recognize geometric shapes through puzzle games in group A children at PAUD AL-FATA Lampaya. The method used in this research is classroom action research, better known as CAR. Data analysis was carried out descriptively with the aim of describing children during the learning process in increasing their ability to recognize geometric shapes: circles, triangles, and rectangles through geometry puzzle games. This research was conducted in two cycles, namely the first cycle and the second cycle consisting of the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The data obtained from the instrument table improve the ability to recognize geometric shapes through puzzle games in group A children at PAUD AL FATA Lampaya. In the first cycle, it showed that 2 out of 10 children started to get BSH scores (Developing as Expected) so that the results were "not successful". In cycle II. The results of the research in cycle II showed that out of 10 children, 7 children had received BSH scores (Developing According to Expectations) so that the results were "successful".
