Abstract

Learning media in schools can stimulate student success in learning. Elementary school physical education teachers in Central Simeulue sub-district have only used the media as teaching aids, paying less attention to the characteristics, suitability of the material, the objectives to be achieved by students. Making learning media is not based on the consideration of selection criteria appropriately, causing the effectiveness of the learning process to be low. The research objectives are: 1) to find out the status of physical education teachers in teaching at the Elementary Schools in the Middle Simeulue District, 2) to find out the efforts of teachers in developing physical education learning media in elementary schools in Central Simeulue District, 3) to find out the obstacles in developing physical education learning media in the Elementary Schools in the Middle Simeulue District, 4) to find out the existence of physical education learning media in the Elementary Schools of the District of Central Simeulue. Namely qualitative research with a survey method. The data source of the study was the Physical Education teachers of the State Primary School in Central Simeulue District. The analysis used is data reduction, data classification, data display, data interpretation, and verification. The results of the study were obtained: 1)Physical education teachers in teaching at elementary schools in the Middle Simeulue District, namely as many as seven teachers as Civil Servants, and three teachers as regional contracts, 2)Physical education teachers have sought to develop learning media in elementary schools in the middle of Simeulue District by trying to modify more interesting ones, and analyze needs based on students' characteristics, 3)Physical Education Teachers in Simeulue Public Elementary Schools are being constrained by the funds themselves and the school environment is relatively less supportive, 4) The existence of learning media Physical education in the Elementary Schools of the District of Central Simeulue is inadequate, but is suitable for use in learning.
