Abstract

The long jump is a number of athletic sports in the form of a jumping movement, lifting the legs up and forward in an effort to carry the center of body weight as long as possible in the air, which is done quickly and by pushing one leg to reach the greatest distance. Long jump ability is closely related to the anthropometric condition of an athlete. This research aims to determine the effect of anthropometry on the long jump distance of students taking part in the long jump extracurricular at SMAN Kota Bahagia, South Aceh. This research uses a quantitative approach, with a correlational type. The research sample was all Kota Bahagia State High School students who were active in athletic extracurricular activities in 2023, totaling 15 people. Data collection is carried out through test techniques. Instruments used to measure anthropometry with height and weight parameters and the long jump squat test. Data were analyzed using the product moment correlation formula and hypotheses were tested using the t-test. The results of the research showed that 80% of the students' anthropometric categories were in the normal or ideal category and the other 20% were in the overweight category. There is a significant relationship between anthropometry and the long jump ability of class XI students at Kota Bahagia State High School as shown by a correlation value of 0.446. This coefficient is in the medium or quite strong category with an influence percentage of 19.89%. This result was also proven to be significant using the t statistical test, namely tcount ≥ ttable (13), namely 1.80 ≥ 1.77, which means Ha was accepted at a significant level of 5% and from the determination results the magnitude of the effect was 19.89%. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an anthropometric influence on the long jump distance of students taking part in the long jump extracurricular at SMAN Kota Bahagia, South Aceh.
