Abstract

Current education emphasizes students as the center of learning, and innovative learning methods such as the scientific approach are considered as a solution to increase students' creativity and activeness. In the background, it is stated that mathematics learning outcomes tend to be low because students find this subject difficult to understand. Therefore, learning methods are needed that can increase students' interest and motivation. One of the approaches proposed is the scientific approach, which emphasizes concept construction through scientific stages. The formulation of the problem in this research is whether the implementation of a scientific approach based on the Quizizz application can improve student learning outcomes in class X quadratic function material at SMA Negeri 1 Lhoknga. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in class X quadratic function material at SMAN 1 Lhoknga. The approach used is a quantitative approach with descriptive research type. Data collection techniques are carried out by giving tests (pretest and posttest), observation and documentation. The data analysis technique is using the Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS) application. The research results show that the scientific approach model based on the Quizizz application can improve student learning outcomes, this can be seen from the results of the Descriptive Statistics test which shows an increase between the average pretest and posttest scores. Learning results on the test showed an increase in the average pretest score, namely 40.77 and the average posttest score was 87.69. Therefore, it can be concluded that the scientific application based on the Quizizz application can improve student learning outcomes.
