The Influence of Animation Videos on Students' Cognition in the Material of Students' Rights and Obligations in Class III Schools at SDN 3 Banda Aceh

Abstract

One of the learning media that can be used in rights and obligations material is animated video learning media because it can make it easier for teachers to explain information about complex material, can attract students' attention and focus which can increase student motivation and learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of animated videos on rights and obligations material on the cognitive abilities of class III students at SDN 3 Banda Aceh and students' activeness in learning rights and obligations material using animated video media in class. The type of research used is quantitative research with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design research approach. This research was conducted in class III of SD Negeri 3 Banda Aceh with a total of 28 students. The data collection technique was carried out by conducting pre-tests and post-tests on the use of animated videos in the material on rights and obligations, as well as observing the activity of class III students after using animated videos on the material on rights and obligations. The research results show that student learning outcomes in the pre-test have an average overall score of 69.29 and post-test learning outcomes have an average overall score of 86.43. Meanwhile, the results of the t test show that tcount = 5.732 > ttable = 1.706. So it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, so there is an influence of animated videos on students' cognition regarding the material on student rights and obligations in class III schools at SDN 3 Banda Aceh. As well as the results of the N-gain score, the N-gain score was 0.56, including the "Medium" category. Meanwhile, activeness sstudents obtained an overall percentage of 90.18% with the criteria "Very High". This is in accordance with the characteristics of learning using animated videos on rights and obligations material, namely giving students direct experience of what is in the surrounding environment and helping students to involve themselves actively
