Abstract

It is very important to introduce hijaiyah letters to children from an early age, because at this age children can easily remember what adults teach them. The habit of reading from an early age will be good for the development of the child's brain and will increase the child's ability to think rationally and improve his own self-control. One effort that can be made to teach hijaiyyah letters to children is to use the Sank and ladder game. The problem in this research is that the lack of variety in learning causes children to be less active in learning and children tend to become bored and the low ability of children aged 4-5 years in the East Bakongan Dharma Wanita Kindergarten, South Aceh in recognizing hijaiyyah letters. The purpose of this research was to find out whether the application of the snakes and ladders game was effective in improving the ability to recognize hijaiyyah letters in children aged 4-5 years at the Dharma Wanita TK Bakongan Timur, South Aceh. The research approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type. Based on the results of the data analysis that the researchers carried out, the t_count value was 9.01, while for t_(table ) the value was 1.73. Based on the rules for drawing conclusions expressed by Arikunto (2010), if 〖t〗_(count )≥t_(table ) then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it can be concluded that the implementation of the snakes and ladders game is effective in improving the ability to recognize hijaiyyah letters in children aged 4-5 years at the Dharma Wanita TK Bakongan Timur, South Aceh. Through this research, the researcher suggests several things, including: 1) Schools can use this research as an alternative learning method in applying the abilities possessed by children; 2) Teachers are expected to be more creative in finding and exploring children's communities and more responsive in helping children who experience obstacles when participating in the learning process; 3) It is recommended to other researchers who are interested in this research to conduct research with different materials and classes, but do not forget to pay attention to materials that are suitable for snakes and ladders.
