Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the level of dominant physical condition on volleyball playing skills among students at SMAN 2 Kluet Utara. The dominant physical conditions in this research are limited to endurance, abdominal muscle strength, leg muscle strength, speed, and agility. Meanwhile, the ability to play volleyball is limited to service, lower passing, upper passing and smash. This research uses a quantitative approach, with a correlational type. The sample for this research was 14 students involved in football extracurricular activities. Data collection was carried out through testing techniques, consisting of a dominant physical condition level test and a volleyball playing ability test. Data were analyzed using the product moment correlation formula and hypotheses were tested using the t-test. The results of the research show that the dominant level of physical condition of students at SMAN 2 Kluet Utara is 21%, which is very good, 50% is in the good category and the other 29% is in the fair category. There is a significant relationship between dominant physical condition and the volleyball playing ability of students at SMAN 2 Kluet Utara as shown by a correlation value of 0.705. This coefficient is in the strong category. This result was also proven to be significant using the t statistical test, namely tcount ≥ ttebel (12), namely 3.44≥ 1.78, which means Ha was accepted at a significant level of 5% and from the determination results the magnitude of the relationship was 49.7%.
