Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is currently a tool that plays an important role in the world of education, especially in learning mathematics. Learning mathematics using an Android-based application can make it easier to learn mathematics, one of the applications that can be used is the math solver application. This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes after using the Math Solver application on Trigonometry material in class X SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh. This study used a quantitative approach with a pretest posttest group design. The research population consisted of 278 students in class X, the sample was randomly selected, namely class X IA-3 as the experimental class totaling 33 students and class X IA-2 as the control class totaling 32 students. Data collection was carried out through tests, the collected data were analyzed using statistical tests (t-test). The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes taught using the math solver application which could be seen through the difference in the experimental class' average score of 74.60 which was higher than the control class's average score of 63.33. This result is also strengthened by testing the hypothesis that tcount > ttable (4.04 > 1.67), thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes taught using the Math Solver application with student learning outcomes being taught without using the application on trigonometry material in class X SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh.
