Abstract

The purpose of conducting this study is to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of Discovery Learning Model basis Audiovisual in Bahasa Indonesia lesson.  The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative research with Library research approach.  The data are collected from textbook, journal article and these, also Basic Competence of Bahasa Indonesia 7th grade 1st semester. The technique of data analysis involves reduction data, display  anddata verification. The result of this study showed that the implementation of discovery learning model can improve students’ motivation, stimulate students in learning and the students’ centered learning. It is more appropriate implemented in basic of competence with keyword inquiry and summary with skill of reading and learning. Its disadvantages are time consuming and the students in the class have not the same ability in receiving the information from audiovisual.
