Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in learning outcomes in freestyle swimming with training methods using assistive devices and without assistive devices for students of SMPN 3 Beutong, Nagan Raya Regency. This research is an experimental research. In this study using a two group pretest-posttest design. In this design, the researcher gave an initial test (pretest) to the research sample after which it was given treatment and evaluated by giving a final test (Posttest). Data analysis uses descriptive quantitative techniques about a situation objectively using numbers, starting from data collection, interpretation of data as well as appearance and results. Testing the data is done by pre-requisite test, namely normality test, homogeneity, hypothesis testing. The results showed that there was an increase in the speed of the 25-meter freestyle swimming before and after training using assistive devices and without tested assistive devices using the Pre-requisite test, namely the t count 4.02 > t table 1.83 (df9) with a significance value of p 0.03 < 0.05, with a difference of 1.71 for group A. Then for group B t count 10.44 > t table 1.83 and a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05, with a difference of 0.97 . The conclusion from this study is that the application of training methods using assistive devices and without modified aids can improve the learning outcomes of freestyle swimming for students of SMPN 3 Beutong, Nagan Raya Regency.
