DEGREE OF PAIN IN KIDNEY FAILURE PATIENTS TREATING HEMODIALISYS IN RSUD dr.ZAINOEL ABIDIN ACEH PROVINCE

Abstract

Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience due to tissue damage, the mechanism arising from multiple stimulation processes that cause pain perception. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of pain in kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Aceh Province. This research method is quantitative with descriptive design. The number of respondents in this study was 70. The sample in this study used a probability sampling approach. The data was collected using a pain scale observation sheet. The results of this study indicate that more than half of the respondents aged 41-50 years as many as 21 people (30.0%) with respondents having an average gender of 43 people (61.4%). The average number of respondents with a pain relief scale was 22 respondents (31.4%), patients who experienced moderate pain were 38 respondents (54.39%), while patients who experienced severe ulcers were 10 respondents (14.3%). It is recommended that this research can be used as input or additional insight for hospitals to improve the quality of service for kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.
