Abstract

Background: Stroke is a brain function disorder due to disruption of blood flow and oxygen to the brain which often causes death and disability. There are several factors related to the occurrence of body image disorders, one of which is spiritual incompatibility. Spirituality helps individuals in building self-confidence which affects the individual's body image. Objective: to determine the spiritual relationship with body image in stroke patients in the inpatient ward of dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. Research Method: using analytic correlation design with cross sectional approach. Sample: 30 respondents using accidental sampling technique. The results of the study: 26 respondents with high spirituality had a good body image. Based on statistical tests through Kolmogorov Sminnov obtained p value = 0.351> 0.05, meaning that there is no relationship between spirituality and body image in stroke patients in the inpatient ward of RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. Conclusion: overall spiritual stroke patients in the high category, body image in stroke patients in the good category. Suggestion: In order to remain able to control or maintain thoughts and attitudes to maintain the patient's self-image and spirituality.
